Sub-Lieut. William Roy Llewellyn. Fleet Air Arm. (ON 36-41) Killed on active service in the Far East (Ceylon) on H.M.S. Bambara 23 March 1944 age 19. Commemorated on the LEE-ON-SOLENT MEMORIAL. William was a Foundation Scholar, son of WG Llewellyn, a Gown Trade Rep from West Bridgford and his wife and Ethel Florence Llewellyn.

From The Nottinghamian March 1945:

Leaving school in 1941, Llewellyn took up an appointment with Messrs. S.Bourne and Co. for a time before volunteering for the F.A.A. His training which had only recently been completed, took place in Canada. He was a Foundation Scholar of the School, where he will be remembered for his irrepressible cheerfulness, which won him many friends.
