Major General FC Mahin. US Army


Major General Frank Cadle Mahin. US Army (ON 02-05) Purple Heart. Killed in flying accident over Tennassee. 24 July 1942 age 54. Buried Arlington Cemetery. Previously wounded in France as a Major in the US Army in 1918.
At School Mahin was in the First XI and XV. Capt. 2nd XI. Harvard 1909.
Son of FW Mahin, US Consul. Nottingham 1902.
Husband of Mauree Pickering Mahin and father of three daughters.

From The Nottinghamian December 1942:
The son of a former American Consul, he received part of his education at the school, where he won the Mayor's Prize for Modern Languages, and attained the rank of Sergeant in the newly formed Cadet Corps. In 1905 he captained the school 2nd XI at cricket. Returning to the United States in 1905, he completed his education at Harvard University. At West Point Military Academy he was commissioned in the US Army, serving therein for 32 years, and seeing service in France during the last war.
