Killed on 22nd November, 1915, aged 31. Son of James Buyers Black and Jessie Charteris Black of Glasgow.
Buried: Vermelles British cemetery, France, plot 1, row C, grave 3.

Register: born 10th October 1885, admitted 30th April 1895, aged 10. Father: James Buyers Black, Brycedale Street, The Park. Occupation: Insurance Manager. Left: Christmas 1899.
An articled chartered accountant to Messrs Wyllie, Guild and Ballantine, Glasgow. He had also had experience in the American and Canadian offices of Messrs Price, Waterhouse and Co., before eventually going to London.
Killed in the Battle of Loos.
Black was a pupil of Rev. T.B. Hardy VC, DSO, MC,. Hardy is also remembered on the Roll of Honour.
